Twelve teams entered and eleven found their way to Travemünde in order to earn perfect conditions for sailing. 25°C, small rigg the first day with one meter waves and gusts up to 24 knots, big rigg and 10-16 knots the third day and light winds the last day brought all range of conditions that makes our sport so interesting and demanding. Not to forget the second day was layday due to lack of wind the sea breeze cam e in late so the crews had only the inshore race in the Trave in front of thousands of spectators again.
The first day saw Magic Marine making the pace in both races but capsizing 200 meters before the finish the first race and ripping its Genaker on the hoist the second downwind, finishing still third. More damages happened to Kaltenberger Ritter that broke it's mast, EuroLink that broke their main terminal that keeps the main up and Steinlechner Bootswerft that ripped of the mast track. So after the first day Original Chia was in front of Hyde Sails and Gill.
During the evening the Inshore race in front of thousands of spectators happened and after hard fights Hyde sails and Magic Marine each gained a win.
On the second day the teams were kept ashore and the upcoming sea breeze were too late for regular races so we had three Trace Segelarena races again and Hyde Sails gained the win in the final as last year followed from Magic Marine (also as last year) and Original Chia in third place.
the third day presented perfect big rig conditions, 10-16 knots, sun and flat water. Magic Marine gained three wins with a series of 1,7,1,1, only the second race could be taken out by Original Chias. So the last day saw Original Chia with 8 points in front of HydeSails (12), Magic Marine (13) and Steinlechner Bootswerft (19). The beach party in the evening didn't destroy the leading sailors too much but in the light wind conditions of the last day fifths placed EuroLink lighted the turbo and took out two from three wins, only leaving one for Original Chia. So the final ranking saw Original Chia with 16 points winning in front of Hyde Sails with 20 and Magic Marine in third place with 25 points.
