The 18 Foot Skiff Spanish Championship is organized by the Spanish Skiff Association and promoted by the European 18ft Skiff Association and the council of Teulada-Moraira.
The Host City of the 18 foot skiff championship is Moraira, located on Spain's Mediterranean coastline. Its excellent sailing conditions, the preparation of a base exclusively for the event and its organizational capacity have all contributed to the choice of Moraira as the perfect place to hold the first 18 Foot skiff Championship in Spain.
One of the most important criteria for choosing Moraira the host city, was stable and reliable weather conditions. Moraira is an ideal choice, given its regular thermal breezes: on good days, the Southeast wind rises towards the end of the morning and continues to be stable throughout the afternoon. The thermal breeze is regular in spring and summer and there are good sailing conditions on 90% of the days.
Moraira is the capital of the luxury region and one of highest life quality vacation spots in the Mediterranean coast. It is a historical, modern and relaxed town where the 18’ skiff followers, the teams, media and the public will enjoy a taste of summer, sport and the organization specially prepared for them.
Moraira is located in the Province of Alicante and Valencia being both, the hosts of mayor events in sailing as the VOLVO OCEAN RACE and the 32nd and 33rd America’s Cup.
