ich hab photos von der skiffmania gemacht. da ich aber dieses jahr in der werftleitung eingespannt war und uns diese isaf jugend worlds quali ereilt hat, ist die ausbeute der 18ft photos wirklich mies. sorry. nächstes jahr läuft der auslöser wieder heiß...

Thanx for the translation, allways good to hear whats doing with the Euro skiffs no matter what!!!!
Really great to see 7 German skiffs racing together, its huge!!!!
All well done on your 2nd placing
No Euro summer for me this year, ( unless someone needs ans aussie driver!!!) looks like my first Sydney winter in nearly 5 years, ah well lots of time for me and my team for winter training at home, not that it gets that cold compared to all you Euro skiff guys!!!!

Sorry, Greg,
its not of much interest for you Australians, its just a report about the biggest national skiffrace in Germany, as it has been shown in several newspapers. But we wanted to keep this page as busy as possible, so we didn't put it on the Germans class association Page alone.
Anyhow I promise to translate it next time. we Europeans are glad, that the point of interest in this class goes also the other way around.

Die18Foot Skiffs, die Formel 1 des Jollensegelns mit ihren aus Kohlefaser und Kevlar gebauten Hightech-Renn-Jollen erfahren einen neuen Entwicklungsschub in Deutschland – dabei entwickelt sich Berlin zur neuen Hochburg mit drei Teams und vier Booten. Immerhin 1/3 der Deutschen Teams und ein Viertel aller aller existierenden Deutschen Boote kommen aus der Hauptstadt.
Bevor es auf die Europäische Grand-Prix Tour mit Rennen in Italien, Deutschland, Dänemark und Frankreich und natürlich der Europameisterschaft im Juni am Gardasee geht, war die größte Deutsche Skiffregatta, die „Skiffmania“ in Diessen am Ammersee am 5.und 6.Mai die letzte Möglichkeit zur Standortbestimmung nach dem Winter.
7 Deutsche 18Foot-Skiff-Teams fanden sich zum Kräftemessen an zwei Tagen ein, unter Ihnen Das Team „Berlin-Syndikat“ vom Berliner Yacht Club, gesteuert von Philipp Nocke und Team „Magic Marine“ vom Verein Seglerhaus am Wannsee, gesteuert von Norbert Peter mit Philipp Berner und Carlo Jurth an Groß- und Vorschot.
Bei regnerischen Bedingungen und stark drehenden Winden um 2-3 Beaufort ging das erste Rennen über die Bühne und es endete mit einem Sieg des Favoriten aus Heidelberg, Werner Gieser mit Team „Wet Protect“, Zweiter und Dritter wurden die Berliner Teams .
Im zweiten Lauf drehten die Berliner jedoch auf und allen voran Team Magic Marine zog nach gutem Start dem ganzen Feld davon und baute im mittlerweile auf 5 Beaufort auffrischenden Wind mit Blitz und Donner seine Führung auf 300 Meter aus. Eine Kenterung handycapte den Heidelberger Werner Gieser auf dem ersten Vorwindsgang zusätzlich, er erhielt sich durch eine schnelle Aufrichtaktion seine Chancen. Auf dem letzten Vorwindsgang erwischte es dann die Führenden vom Team „Magic Marine“ bei der Halse unter Genaker, wenig später auch den Lokalmatadoren Christoph Hagenmeyer vom Ammersee. Das zweite Berliner Team setzte sich an die Spitze, um wenig später auch ein Opfer des starken Windes zu werden. Immerhin hatten alle Teams angesichts des schwachen Windes am Mittag auf das große Rigg gesetzt, welches ab 4-5 Windstärken spätestens auf das kleinere gewechselt werden kann und sollte. So fuhr der Favorit Wet Protect seinem 2.Tagessieg entgegen. Magic Marine wurde nach anfänglicher Führung noch 2., Berlin Syndikat 3.
Mit diesem Zwischenstand ging es in den 2.Tag.
Dies war der Tag von Magic Marine, welche sich von nun an immer mit an der Spitze befanden. Ein 2.Platz im ersten Rennen des Tages hinter Lokalmatador Christoph Hagenmeyer mit Team „Marine Club“ unterstrich ihre Ambitionen, Wet Protect den Sieg noch streitig machen zu wollen. Im 2.Lauf fanden Sie sich nach einem guten Start an der Spitze des Feldes wieder und arbeiteten sich Meter um Meter heraus, wurden von einer Winddrehung auf dem ersten Genakergang jedoch um ihre Siegchance gebracht, Sie wurden 4. Verpatzt? Vielleicht, wenn nicht auch Wet Protect im ersten Lauf einen 5.Platz hingelegt hätte. Der Showdown im letzten Lauf konnte also starten, denn nach der 5.Wettfahrt gibt es einen ersten Streicher, der beide Teams punktgleich auf den 1.Platz setzt, dahinter in Lauerstellung das 2.Berlner Team, Berlin Syndikat. Nach einer guten taktischen Leistung auf der Startkreuz bei anfänglich 3 Beaufort fand sich Magic Marine im 3.Lauf des Tages an die Spitze wieder und baute diese Führung auch aus. Mittlerweile hatte der Wind mit einer Regenfront wieder aufgefrischt auf gute 4-5 Beaufort, und die Reihenfolge war Magic Marine, Berlin Syndikat, Marine Club und Wet Protect, dahinter die restlichen Deutschen Teams, die mit einem Sieg nichts mehr zu tun hatten. Da passierte es, die letzte Leetonne war gerundet, und in schon Reichweite des Ziels bei der letzten Wende 100 Meter vor dem Gesamtsieg zerstörte eine Unachtsamkeit der Crew von Magic Marine diesen und Sie kenterten in einer Böe. Das gleiche Schicksal ereilte kurz danach auch Berlin Syndikat, welche sich daneben ins Wasser “packten”. Der Weg für Christoph Hagenmeyer zum Tagessieg und Gesamtdritten war frei und er nutzte dieses Geschenk. Zweiter in diesem letzten Lauf und auch Gesamt mit einem winzigen Pünktchen Rückstand aus 5 Läufen wurde Team Magic Marine um Norbert Peter,Carlo Jurth und Philipp Berner, welche trotz der vergebenen Chancen zufrieden mit dem Ergebnis waren.
Ihr Kommentar: Wir sind auf einem guten Weg und dem derzeit besten Deutschen Team Wet Protect deutlich auf den Leib gerückt. Der Abstand zum vergangenen Jahr ist geschrumpft und unser Frühjahrstrainingslager beim Deutschen Hochseesportverband Hansa in Glücksburg zahlt sich aus und die Stimmung im Team ist großartig. Wir bekommen hervorragende Unterstützung durch unsere Ausrüster Liros, Magic Marine und Fiberwork GmbH und freuen uns, wenn wir deren Einsatz in Form von Erfolgen zurückzahlen können. Unser nächstes Rennen ist der Europäische Grand Prix in Dongo und wir hoffen, dass wir unsere Leistungen dort bestätigen können. Wir sind jedenfalls heiß.
