Headline: 18foot-races were the top-event in the press and tv! Perfect conditions for a perfect event! Team "Ler Ole" from Denmark made it in front of "Wet Protect" from Germany that sailed a perfect last day and caught on the finish line Team GP-Covers, also from Denmark. tv and newspapers were always very busy with the 18Foot-Skiffs: n-tv made a 90 seconds, rtl a 3 Minutes-jornal on the 18footSkiffs alone, additional three big Newspaper-articles in "Lübecker Nachrichten" on 18footer and one in the german wide most important newspaper on sailing, "seglerzeitung". Great weather, windconditions between 5 and 16 knots showed all the best of travemuender week. Events every evening in the middle of lots of interested spectators made this event to a must for every boatsponsor. A special thanks to our eventsponsor "Columbia hotels and Resorts", that provided also the main prize for the winning team "Ler Ole" from Denmark:One week in the resort of Cyprus for every teammember plus wife! The only thing that was missing was that only nine teams found the way to Travemuende.

18foot-Rennen bei der Travemünder Woche "schossen den Vogel" beim Rennen um die Medienpräsenz ab! Berichte auf n-tv am 25.07. 1Minute 30, auf RTL um am 25.07. um 18.00 sogar 3 Minuten.Zusätzlich gab es einen Bericht in der "Seglerzeitung" und drei Berichte mit Fotos in den "Lübecker Nachrichten", die Mitsegelaktion war ein toller Erfolg. Jens Kürbis von den "LN": " mit soviel Zuschriften, Faxen und Anrufen hätten wir aufgrund der Erfahrung mit früheren Aktionen nie gerechnet, die Redaktion hatte die Qual der Wahl und hat schlußendlich nach Witzigkeit der Bewerbung ausgewählt." Für die ausgewählten Mitsegler Günter (68 Jahre) und Susanne (29+, 8-) ) war es ein unvergeßliches Erlebnis. Der Bericht am 26.07. in den LN spiegelte dies Bild voll und ganz wieder.Columbia Hotels and Resorts wird der Medienauftrieb freuen. Dies ist ein kleiner Ausgleich für die magere Beteiligung von nur 9 Teams. Nächstes Jahr sollen es aber mindestens 15 Teams werden. Tolles Wetter, großzügige Veranstaltungen und ein tolles Prizegiving-dinner, sowie tolle Windbedingungen, die fast alles boten, sind die Grundlage für eine schöne Veranstaltung gewesen. NP

First I would like to thank you for the perfect job you made. The organization was perfect, the place was perfect, the racing was great, ... We got free diner, free beers, free party and a perfect price giving ceremony with a nice buffet.

For the teams who were not present, I think the message is simple. Travemuende is the best place for advertising the class, providing visibility to our sponsors and attracting other sponsors.

I'm really happy to know that Columbia Hotel would like to continue to sponsor us next year and I really hope that more teams will join next year, as this will help the class for its future.
