Each 18' sailor is allowed to have one (and only one) blog on this website. The idea of these blogs is to allow each team or 18' sailor to inform the rest of the community about his project, result or experience. I really encourage everyone to create his blog in order to have a more interactive website. Please also note that if a club, known by the class would like to have a blog here, I will be happy to host it.
To create your blog, just follow this procedure.
1. Register or Login
In order to know if you are allow or not to publish in a blog, the system needs to know who you are. For that you first need to register (if you not already did it) and then to log on on the website when you want to edit your blog data. For doing these two operation, you have 2 links on top right of each pages, just under the menubar.
After you register, I will have to grant you in the 18' sailor group. This is usually done within 24 hours max and you will receive an email when it's done.
Please note that there is many advantages to be logon on the website (access to restricted area, access to team phone number & address, ...).
2. Click on "Create My Blog"
When the first step is completed, you will have to go in the blog section. On the right part of the web page you should have a new Action section (see the picture below)
If you don't have the Action menu, this means you have not been granted in the 18' sailor group yet. Please send an email to secretary@18footer.org for correcting the problem.
In this Action menu, click "Create My Blog". This should bring you to the next step ...
3. Enter your Blog Name, description and set the options
Enter the title/name of your blog and a small description. Then check the following options:
- Make this blog public
- Enable users to post comment
- Enable anonymous users to post comment
- Display Full Name
Finally click on update, on the bottom on the page. Then your blog is created.
